Hassiavis laticauda by Bran-Artworks Hassiavis laticauda by Bran-Artworks
Several days ago l was talking with :iconhodarinundu: about caprimulgiformes (nightjars and their kin) and the experiences we have had with these misterious and cool birds, also noticed some fossil representatives in Earth´s record, one of those was Hassiavis, a bird that lived in Messel  during the Middle Eocene, cool thing about this fossil is that feathers were represent and had a similar pattern like living Owlet nightjars which may have resembled. And the other day l went to a walk in a rural zone looking for nightjars and was lucky enough to see 3 0r 4 them  and a coral snake as well at dusk ... this sketch is dedicated   :iconhodarinundu:  for his birthday :).
